Downtown KL

On December 3, Jenn's sister Dianne and her friend Vanessa came for a month's vacation. A good time was had by all... we started off by touring downtown KL.

Our first stop was Central Market. This is where you can buy all sorts of local handicrafts (masks, clothing, pottery, etc.). You can also get your fortune read. Vanessa and Di both learned that they are female!

After our shopping trip in Central Market and down Petaling Street (where you can buy all the Gucci, Prada, Armania, Oakley, etc. products you like for less than $5) we stopped at the Bob Marley Bar for some refreshments. I opted for the bar's "specialty": a Gravedigger. This lovely drink is made from the following ingredients: Rum, Vodka, Tequila, Whiskey, Gin and is topped with Guinness.

A lovely beverage. I think Di liked it...

One of the definite highlights of KL are the Petronas Towers (you may recognize them from Entrapment - unless you were paying more attention to Catherine Zeta-Jones instead of the scenery). They were completed in 1998 and at 1483ft (88 stories) they were the tallest buildings in the world until Taipei 101 in Taiwan was completed in 2004.
