Borneo - Kuching
Our next port of call was Borneo. Borneo is made up of 3 different countries, and since Jenn and I were unable to leave Malaysia until the new year, we were only able to travel through Sarawak and Sabah - the Malaysian Provinces. We started in the Southern province of Sarawak, in the city of Kuching. This was a cute little city on the waterfront. Probably our favorite Malaysian city to date, it had a lot of character.
Kuching is the Malay word for "cat", and as such it is considered to be the cat capitol of the world. There are an insane number of cat statues throughout the city and there is even a cat museum (sadly we didn't have time to visit it).

This building was across the river at the waterfront. We're unsure whether it's a palace or a fort. It's probably both.... or neither.
There were many boats that would ferry backand forth across the river.
The waterfront was equally impressive at night.
This was the hostel where we stayed in Kuching. It was only 6 months old and very comfortable and because there were 5 of us, we even got to rent the room to ourselves.
The main lobby of the hostel.
Di + Sun = Fun to poke
